Private lessons for RCMusic exams in Theory, History and Harmony

Classes are recommended because hourly rates range from $12.83 to $14.00. Tests provide constant evaluation. Private theory packages are designed to accommodate difficult schedules. Private Theory Packages work for self-motivated, responsible students who communicate with the instructor and fulfill study/homework requirements diligently, will find the private lessons ideal. Private lessons do not include test time allocation and do not qualify for retake privileges should the student fail the exam. Due to variance in abilities, additional lessons may be required for exam preparation. Our 24-hour lesson cancellation policy is applicable. Prices subject to change. Private RCMusic Theory Lessons

Class teaching assumes a certain level of music knowledge. In level 8 theory, it is assumed students read pitches and are familiar with key signatures, rhythmic values, meter, major and minor scales and cadence triads of tonic, sub-dominant and dominant. These elements are the “technical” component of the RCMusic practical examinations. However, if the student views music as a movement of the fingers only, they will not feel familiar with the building blocks. As well, there are many students with attention deficit issues who daydream in class or simply shut off their concentration. Regardless of the reason, some students require one-to-one support to ensure they can execute the procedures correctly to produce correct answers.

Theory Classes

Rudiments classes are ideally suited to development of self-esteem and confidence. Concepts are introduced in clearly defined topics (key signatures, whole tones/semitones etc.) in a progressive, but interconnected order. Through study and application of procedures, students enjoy a variety of activities with notes.
